Verdict delivered in Penn State professor's death

A jury delivered a guilty verdict in the murder trial of 56-year-old Penn State professor Ronald Bettig. George Ishler Jr., 41, of Pennsylvania Furnace, and Danelle Geier, 34, of Lemont, are charged with first- and third-degree murder. Ishler pushed Bettig of the ledge of Blackhawk Quarry in August 2016.

Inmate found dead in area prison

Steven Fauntleroy, 44, was found hanging in his cell at the State Correctional Institute at Huntingdon on Friday. Fauntleroy was serving 18 to 40 years after he was convicted of third-degree murder in 2007.

Karen Muir, defense attorney for George Ishler Jr., questioned Danelle Geier on the fifth day of 56-year-old Penn State professor Ronald Bettig's murder trial. Ishler and Geier are accused of murdering Bettig at Blackhawk Quarry in August 2016. Ishler also testified, despite previously indicating he would not testify.
